Capsicum & Chilli Ham delivers a flavoursome twist to the classic baked ham.
Ingredients
Pukara Estate Capsicum & Chilli Jam
1/3 cup of brown sugar
Cloves
4 kg half leg of smoked ham
1/3 cup of water
Method
Preheat the oven to 150°C.
Remove the layer of skin off the ham, leaving the fat intact.
Score the fat into 3 cm squares across the entire half leg.
In each square, stick a clove, piercing the fat and the meat underneath.
Place a pot on the stove over medium heat. Add a whole jar of Pukara Estate Capsicum & Chilli Jam, 1/3 cup of brown sugar, and 1/3 cup of water.
Gently bring to a boil, then transfer to a blender and blend until smooth.
Transfer back into a bowl and baste the entire ham with the sauce.
Place in the oven for 80 minutes, basting the ham every 25 minutes with the sauce.
Remove from the oven and serve!
